Our Founder
Alexus Edmonds Haynie became the CEO and Founder of Made Gentle, LLC in the midst of the global pandemic. While in quarantine, she took time to reconnect with a lifelong passion, hair.
As a child Alexus would style her barbies' hair to match models in popular magazines. After pursuing formal education and obtaining a Bachelor of Neuroscience and Master of Medical Science, she began crafting hair care products in her kitchen. Alexus advanced her knowledge of hair care by obtaining her Cosmetic Formulator Certification.
Made Gentle was born from a place where opportunity meets preparation. The time in quarantine allowed her to merge a lifelong passion for hair and science. Alexus was encouraged by her sister to take Made Gentle to the next level. She took the recommendation to heart and established her business.
Our Commitment
Made Gentle's commitment to creating gentle and clean hair products stems from our founder's desire to help people regain confidence in their crowns after losing hair due to uncontrolled circumstances. Alexus maternal grandmother was diagnosed with Her2 Positive Breast Cancer in 2010 and 2015. Each diagnosis resulted in hair loss due to chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
Fast forward to 2020, Alexus drafted her first set of formulations and asked her grandmother to try the products. She agreed and in time her hair grew back. Alexus was so grateful to have played a small role in helping her grandmother regrow her beautiful crown of hair. Providing clean and gentle solutions to hair loss communities fills our heart with gratitude. We are grateful to every person who's allowed Made Gentle to be a part of their hair journey.
