For Essence Fest 2024, our booth was transformed into a heartwarming homage to founder Alexus Edmonds' grandmother's kitchen—the very kitchen that inspired the creation of Made Gentle. It was a space filled with nostalgia, love, and the rich aroma of cherished memories.
Our journey began with a deeply personal story. When Alexus' grandmother, Shirley Curtis, was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer for the second time and lost her hair, Alexus created our Signature Hair & Scalp Oil. Using all-natural essential oils and an abundance of love, she crafted a product that embodies the warmth and care found in a grandmother's kitchen—the heart of every home.
Gathering Stories from the Heart of the Home
Throughout the festival, we invited attendees to share their favorite “Kitchen Memories” The response was overwhelming. We heard stories of family gatherings, hair styling sessions, and shared laughter—each one a testament to the powerful role that kitchens play in our lives. These stories not only connected us but also brought a piece of home to Essence Fest.
“For Your Hair, Crafted In Our Kitchen”
Our slogan, “For Your Hair, Crafted In Our Kitchen,” resonated deeply with everyone who visited our booth. It captures the essence of what we stand for—a brand rooted in love, care, and the timeless tradition of crafting something special for those we cherish.
A Weekend to Remember
Essence Fest was more than just an event for us; it was a celebration of community, heritage, and the enduring legacy of family kitchens. We are grateful to everyone who shared their “Kitchen Memories” with us and helped us bring Made Gentle’s kitchen to life. Thank you for joining us on this journey and for being a part of our story.
